Combined Basic & Advanced Anti-Wrinkle Course
Anti-wrinkle injections are one of the most popular cosmetic/aesthetic treatments in the world and there are a plethora of people that swear by the youth-keeping injections. They are also one of the oldest, well known and trusted non-surgical aesthetics procedures. Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve signals to certain muscles. The muscles then become more relaxed, this reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the skin. The substance freezes muscle movement by blocking neuro-transmitters and this effect lasts for 6-8 months. Once you’ve had it injected, the effects on the muscles usually become apparent within a few hours, with the main effects appearing after about a week. And while it is immensely popular for aesthetic purposes, they are actually pretty handy for other conditions too, including stopping excessive sweat (Hyperhidrosis).
- Fully CPD accredited
To qualify as a medic you must be one of the following:
- Dental Hygienist
If you do not hold the medical qualifications listed then an NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent will gain entry to this program. If you do not have a NVQ Level 3 but have other qualifications directly related to this area of work, particularly if you are working with needles, please contact us to see if we can consider your qualification for enrolment onto our course.
We offer a combined anti-wrinkle course, which will train our clients to work in all areas of the face and body not just a couple of areas. We believe by offering a combined course, this will save our clients time and money.
Most other training providers will split the course up into either –
1. A basic option and an advanced option separately
2. Different areas of the face or body will be delivered as separate courses i.e. upper forehead, jaw line, and hyperhidrosis .etc.
This results in the clients having to pay extra money for the complete anti-wrinkle options and investing more time to be fully trained. By offering a combined anti-wrinkle option we save you time and money to administer in all areas of the face and body.
We understand that unlike dermal fillers, which are entirely aesthetic, there are aspects of the advanced part of the anti-wrinkle course that is medical, and due to this we also understand that not all our clients require the advanced option of the course. In light of this we also offer an entirely aesthetic one-day Basic Anti-Wrinkle Course option, which teaches our clients to inject in the most popular aesthetic anti-wrinkle areas of the face. Please see our course options above.
The Combined Basic & Advanced Anti-Wrinkle course will assist students in gaining a much deeper informative insight into the field of anti-wrinkle injectables, and will provide those with the practical skills needed to either start their own clinic or add a lucrative extra stream of income to an existing beauty salon, spa or aesthetics clinic. Some clients have also worked locum in busy aesthetics or beauty salons in their local areas.
The course will not only address the injecting aspects of anti-wrinkles, but will also teach students how to inject safely in all areas, as well as working with clients to achieve the most desirable yet practical outcome. Anti-Wrinkle injections can be administered in the following areas:
- Frown lines
- Upper forehead
- Crow’s feet/smile lines
- Brow lift
- Gummy smile
- Smoker’s lines
- Downturned mouth
- Jaw line
- Bunny lines
- Pebbled/dimpled chin
- Turkey neck
- Hyperhidrosis (over active sweat glands)
How the course is delivered
The course is delivered in two sections; there is a theoretical aspect and a practical aspect.
The Theory Work
Upon enrolment onto our combined basic & advanced anti-wrinkle course we will send out two fully CPD approved theory booklets for our clients to work through, one booklet will apply to the basic aspect of the course (day 1) and the second booklet will be applicable to the advanced aspect of the course (day 2).
We strongly abide and believe in our motto ‘Teaching Excellence through Safety’ (please see our About Us page), and due to this our theory booklets differ for medics and non-medics. For non-medics we have extended learning material, particularly in the modules that cover safety, anatomy, injection techniques, and contra-indications etc. The theory booklet covers the following modules:
- Treatment information
- Medical questionnaire
- Before and afters
- Injection techniques
- Safety and hygiene
- Risks, side effects, complications
- Realistic expectations
- Topical anaesthetic
At the end of each module you will need to answer two to four questions on the subject matter. It will take about 14 hours of guided learning on this section for medics and 17-18 guided learning hours for non-medics. The workbook answer sheets will be required to be emailed back to us for marking before the practical days. As was mentioned previously we strongly abide by our motto ‘Teaching Excellence through Safety’ (Please see our About Us page). Our pre-course theory work booklets are more involved and extensive for non-medics in comparison to the booklets aimed at medics. For non-medics we have extended learning material, particularly in the modules that cover safety, anatomy, injection techniques, and contra-indications etc. By offering this additional support we believe that our non-medic learners can offer quality aesthetics procedures whilst having a better understanding of the anatomy and physiology, thus ‘Teaching Excellence through Safety’.
The Practical Days
The first day will start with a 90 minute power point presentation reviewing the theory work and allowing time for any questions and queries in regards to the theory aspect of the course and anti-wrinkle in general. There will also be an introduction and overview of our facilities and training centre.
The remaining time will be spent doing practical work on our models under the direction of our fully trained aesthetics experts on all areas of the face and body. We never ask our trainees to supply their own models, we provide all the models and we strictly abide by HEE guidelines and guarantee to provide ample models to train on. All our trainees will be provided with uniforms and lunch.
